Together For Good Ministries, Inc. is a Houston, TX based nonprofit organization that supports individuals and families suffering from socioeconomic despair and depravation often found in underfunded, underserved, and underrepresented communities.
The Third Ward community has suffered decades of socioeconomic deprivation, rising housing costs, and disappearing affordable housing. Together for Good Ministries works to interrupt these cycles by offering life-changing programs that strengthen families, restore dignity, and promote economic mobility.
Through education, workforce development partnerships, financial literacy classes, and ongoing support, residents grow the skills and confidence needed to create long-term stability—impacting generations to come.
We believe healing is holistic. For both mothers and seniors, we partner with local organizations to provide access to mental health counseling, trauma-informed care, and emotional support.
This ensures our residents not only rebuild their circumstances, but also regain peace, hope, and resilience after surviving crisis.
Volunteers are the heartbeat of Together for Good. Volunteers assist with senior companionship visits, household chores, cookouts, youth support, job readiness events, and more.
Their presence builds a strong, loving community around our residents—helping them feel valued, connected, and supported during their journey toward independence.
It is our mission to provide vital services and resources for the most vulnerable populations of humanity, in an effort to build, maintain and restore The Beloved Community in this generation and for generations to come.
It is the mission of Together for Good Ministries, Incorporated to positively impact the lives of individuals and families suffering from socioeconomic despair and depravation often found in underfunded, underserved and underrepresented communities, beginning in the inner city of Houston, Texas and continuing around the world, as far as our influence can reach.

Together For Good Ministries, Inc. continues its mission to uplift individuals and families facing the harsh realities of socioeconomic despair in Houston’s most underserved communities. Our latest causes focus on expanding access to stable, supportive housing for those most vulnerable. We are strengthening our Transitional Housing Program for formerly homeless single mothers with up to two children, providing them with a safe environment, essential resources, and the stability needed to rebuild their lives. In addition, our Permanent Housing Residency for seniors ages 55 and over ensures that older adults have a dignified, secure place to call home. Through these initiatives, we are tackling chronic homelessness, breaking cycles of generational poverty, and restoring hope—one family, one senior, and one community at a time.
I have been able to work on my mental health, which is extremely important to me. I am still working on my mental health. I have been able to encourage my children to work on their mental health and well-being. I have also been able to explore various career paths in search of what fits my needs as far as work-life balance. I have been able to start counselling therapy. I have been able to get a driver's license and financial aid.
While staying at Madge Bush, I was able to enroll in an undergraduate 10-month program at the University of Phoenix and take on a substitute Teacher job for the following school year, starting August 2024-2025
I would like to express my appreciation for the opportunity to be part of this program. I’ve accomplished some of my major goals, but not all. For the time I’ve been here, I’ve established a nonmedical transportation service, but I’m still working on expanding. Next year will be the actual launch of the actual business. I plan to move into an apartment close by so my child can attend the school I’m enrolling her in. I’m involved in a down payment assistant housing program, but I am 40 points away from a credit score of 580 and still working on the down payment for the mortgage loan. The apartment I’m applying for will be ready on October 1st.
Thank you for allowing Serenity and me to stay here. Madge Bush has been a pillar for us. I don’t know what I would have done if not for the generosity of everyone who continues to keep this place running. I have goals that I want to accomplish before getting back out there, and I am beyond grateful for this opportunity. So far, I have accomplished two semesters in medical school. I am working at Uber on the side while continuing my education. My little one is getting ready for prek 4. We have been so busy, but we are thriving.
