01Restoring Mothers & Children Escaping Homelessness

Together for Good Ministries provides transitional housing and comprehensive support for up to 16 formerly homeless single mothers and their children each year. Through our Madge Bush Transitional Living Center, mothers rebuild their lives after experiencing domestic violence, sexual exploitation, homelessness, and generational poverty.

Residents receive case management, education and career guidance, mental health support, life-skills training, and the resources needed to regain stability. Our mission is to empower each woman to achieve independence, employment, and safe permanent housing within two years.

02Protecting Seniors at Risk of Homelessness

Through the Audrey H. Lawson Senior Residences, we offer safe, permanent, affordable housing to nearly 40 seniors aged 55+ from Houston’s historic Third Ward.
As gentrification continues to displace long-term residents, seniors face rising costs, isolation, and homelessness. Our program ensures elders can remain in the community they built and love—supported by volunteers who provide companionship, assistance with errands, and opportunities for social engagement.

03Breaking Cycles of Poverty in the Third Ward

The Third Ward community has suffered decades of socioeconomic deprivation, rising housing costs, and disappearing affordable housing. Together for Good Ministries works to interrupt these cycles by offering life-changing programs that strengthen families, restore dignity, and promote economic mobility.
Through education, workforce development partnerships, financial literacy classes, and ongoing support, residents grow the skills and confidence needed to create long-term stability—impacting generations to come.

04Mental, Emotional, and Spiritual Strengthening

We believe healing is holistic. For both mothers and seniors, we partner with local organizations to provide access to mental health counseling, trauma-informed care, and emotional support.
This ensures our residents not only rebuild their circumstances, but also regain peace, hope, and resilience after surviving crisis.

05Community Volunteer Engagement & Support Network

Volunteers are the heartbeat of Together for Good. Volunteers assist with senior companionship visits, household chores, cookouts, youth support, job readiness events, and more.
Their presence builds a strong, loving community around our residents—helping them feel valued, connected, and supported during their journey toward independence.

06Expanding Housing & Resource Opportunities

To strengthen long-term sustainability, Together for Good Ministries actively collaborates with Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church and community partners to secure new revenue streams and expand supportive services.
Our goal is to grow our impact by increasing housing availability, enhancing programs, and ensuring every resident has the resources necessary to thrive.
